Casa Redonda
Adventures Sian Ka'an Biosphere, Yucatan

Isla Punta Pajaros is as close to an eco adventurers paradise as you will find anywhere.  We are located in The Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve.  This area possess a unique combination of environments which create the ideal habitat for a wide variety of animal life and sea life. In essence, it is great home for local wildlife as common as the Pink Flamingo and as rare as the elusive Yucatan Jaguar.  The area surrounding the island is so remote, all guests of Casa Redonda have an equal opportunity to be the first or one of the few to have an experience of a lifetime.  If you are looking for a true Sian Ka'an Jungle adventure, without giving up all the comforts or civilization, consider Casa Redonda Suites.

Snorkeling
The vast estuary/flats systems of Ascension Bay, Laguna Santa Rosa & Espiritu Santo Bay and adjacent Palancar Reef are the basis of Isla Punta Pajaros' pristine surroundings and they just may provide the absolute best snorkeling waters in the world.  Shallow water coral species demand a very stable environment with precise water temperature and consistent water depth in order to flourish. This is why large barrier reefs, like the Palancar Reef that parallels Isla Punta Pajaros' coast, are so rare. Palancar is second only to Australia's Great Barrier Reef in size.

The reef itself supplies food and shelter to a huge variety of baitfish and small crustaceans, which in turn attract larger predators. The reef also protects the shore-side fishery from full ocean swells. The coral heads absorb the brunt of the waves, allowing the flats to remain calm even if the reef is being pounded by a storm swell.  Get away from the maddening crowds found at other operations.  Jumped into one of our pangas, at your leisure, and let one of our local guides take you to some of the most remote, unexplored snorkeling areas found anywhere.  Our guests are the only adventurers snorkeling these areas.
